The Northwest US, and especially Portland, is at the center of the green building movement. In a world moving toward green building as a standard, it is crucial to become educated about your mortgage financing options.
As a LEED AP mortgage broker in Portland, I use my background in the green building world to help educate homebuyers and the real estate community on the benefits of green building. That experience also allows me to advise mortgage clients on programs and homes that will best fit their environmentally-friendly requirements.
I pride myself on being extremely well organized, efficient and punctual while being friendly and fun to work with. My background is in engineering and higher math, so the math side of loans is no problem – it’s the interaction and fun that working with people presents that I really enjoy. When I’m not financing properties, giving presentations on green building or teaching a class on sustainability at Marylhurst University, you might find me rock climbing, road cycling or hiking in the outdoor paradise that is the Northwest, or perhaps gardening in the courtyard of my condo.
I live a lifestyle firmly rooted in the outdoors and sustainability, including commuting by bicycle (don’t be surprised if I show up to a meeting on my bike!), eating locally and in-season and canning or freezing food for those spare winter months with no local produce.
